I met *Shola , at a video shoot, they way she dressed had everyone whispering, from her tatoos to piercings and her very hot pants, anyone could tell that she had totally lost her way in life, the boys she came with were a group of druggies who had come with different girls everyday, i felt really sorry for her and hoped she'd come my way ! fortunately she did , i was so upset to find out that those guys had promised to make her a star ! like they could even help themselves !
Shola had been living in a brothel and had been a prostitute for four years, at just 21 she was worn out, fustrated and suicidal ! she had been mugged, raped, abused, jailed several times and was just at the point of suicide when we met, i tried to talk to her and begged her to leave the brothel.
I spent the next few days finding somewhere for her to live and got my pastor and others involved, we prayed for her for two long weeks until she showed up with nothing !
Its been a few months since Shola left the brothel, she works with me and is doing an apprenticeship course in fashion design, she is a sweet , cheerful and loving girl , i feel so blessed to have her around me, sometimes i look at her and marvel she looks so different from how she did when we first met, the other day she sent me a text and all she said was "thank you ".
Evil people will prosper when "we" the light of the world sit back and do nothing, Shola said something to me when we first met, she told me she was ruined ! and i told her she was not ruined and God had a plan for her, she look amazed when i said that and burst into tears.
Many of us need to get out there and look for the lost and let them know the truth and their true worth! I was deeply offended by the way she was treated by the guys who brought her to the video shoot and I wanted her to know that she deserves respect and love.
We need to stop worrying about ourselves and run after our primary assignment which is seeking God and reaching the lost. God help us . Amen
